Bare Minerals – A Personal Review
August 14th, 2008 by Jamer in Reviews

I’ve tried nearly every brand of cosmetic foundation and until recently I have never found one that I really liked. Most foundations left my skin feeling heavy, oily, and often had that “cakey” texture on the surface of my skin. I also have had acne problems, so finding a cover up for that has also been a difficult feat.

Bare Minerals make-up kitAbout a year ago my mother bought me a starter kit called “Bare Essentials” from the Bare Minerals makeup line. It included loose foundation powder, concealer powder, and something called “mineral veil”- a fine white powder, and a set of application brushes.  The kit also comes with an instructional video which shows the proper techniques to try when applying the powders.

My skin had been irritated by other foundations and my mother applied the Bare Minerals to my face one morning, and I was astonished at the result. My face was flawless and my skin felt so light, as if I wasn’t even wearing any makeup! The natural ingredients in the powders didn’t irritate my skin like other products had, and I was surprised to know that there was SPF protection in the powders.  The mineral veil was also something that I marveled at. It is a sheer powder that you use to set the foundation powder and it also minimizes the size and appearance of pores. So after a year of using this product, I can fully recommend it to anyone who is looking for a natural solution for their foundation problems, and for anyone in general looking for a good makeup product.
